Nordic Network on Media, Communication, and Health
The Nordic Network on Media, Communication, and Health (NNMCH) originated from a temporary working group at the NordMedia Conference in Malmö in 2019. Since then, the group has grown from 15 to approximately 40 junior and senior scholars. The group convenes regularly at the biannual NordMedia conference. The network was formally established in Lund, Sweden, during a two-day symposium and meeting funded by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond in August 2022. Starting in 2025, Media, Communication and Health is a permanent division within NordMedia.
Visit the page for the division of Media, Communication and Health on nordmedianetwork.org.
The network aims to:
- provide a supportive and inspiring meeting place
- enhance capacity in the Nordics within the field
- facilitate knowledge transfer and learning opportunities across the region
- increase the visibility of Nordic research in the European and international community
- promote cultural and critical perspectives in health communication research.
Lund University hosts the network and has a steering group with four members from Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.
