A Corpus-Assisted Discourse Study of User-Generated Content on Social Media
Walter Spezzano is a research fellow at the University of Palermo (Italy), where he is also completing his PhD with a dissertation on Corpus-Assisted Discourse Studies (CADS) for digital brand analysis. As part of his doctoral studies, he was a visiting scholar at Florida International University (USA), where he collaborated with the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau.
His research explores strategic communication, primarily from a discourse-analytic perspective, focusing on the hospitality and tourism industry. He is currently involved in international research collaborations on strategic communication in sustainable tourism (Florida International University, USA), luxury tourism (University of South Florida, USA), and media-induced dark tourism (University of Central Lancashire, UK).
Walter is a member of the Association for Business Communication (ABC), the Italian Society of Management (SIMA), the Italian Society of Marketing (SIM), and the International Tourism Analytics Group (i-TAG).
